The first step to creating any great light for food photography is understanding at its core how natural light behaves first. Knowing this is the key to controlling artificial light for food photography.
I shot this image with the Fuji X100f, which is amazing to use with artificial light, mainly because of it’s leaf shutter. I used a concept called”layered” lighting. You can call it whatever you want, but basically I used two lights for different purposes and combined them together to create the image.
